Revision Policy

“Clear guidance on revision eligibility, original scope and requesting changes to an order.”

Wiki Assignments UK provides revision support to address reasonable concerns about work or academic support supplied in accordance with an agreed order. This Revision Policy explains when a revision may be requested, what falls within the original scope of an order, circumstances that may require additional work or charges, and how revision requests are reviewed.

Revisions are intended to address issues relating to the requirements and instructions agreed when an order was accepted. They are not intended to provide unlimited rewriting, introduce substantially different requirements after work has been completed, or replace a new order where the requested changes fall outside the original scope.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or replace any statutory right or remedy available to a consumer under applicable law. Where a mandatory legal right provides a different or additional remedy, that right takes precedence.

Purpose of this policy

This policy explains how Wiki Assignments UK handles requests to revise work or academic support previously supplied as part of an order. Its purpose is to distinguish corrections and changes that properly fall within the original agreed service from additional work that results from new or changed requirements.

This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Refund Policy and Academic Integrity Policy.

When a revision may be available

A revision may be available where the customer identifies a reasonable issue with the service supplied when compared with the instructions, requirements or scope agreed for the order.

Depending on the circumstances, revision requests may include:

  • Addressing an instruction from the original order that was materially overlooked.
  • Correcting an error in work supplied by Wiki Assignments UK.
  • Bringing relevant content into closer alignment with the originally supplied assignment brief or agreed requirements.
  • Correcting formatting or referencing issues where a particular style or requirement formed part of the original instructions.
  • Addressing reasonable concerns about clarity, organisation or presentation where these fall within the agreed service.
  • Responding to relevant tutor or supervisor feedback where that feedback relates directly to the requirements originally supplied and does not materially expand or change the scope of the order.

Revision eligibility is determined by comparing the requested changes with the instructions and scope agreed for the original order.

Original instructions and agreed scope

The original scope of an order is determined by the information reasonably available and agreed when the order was accepted. This may include the assignment brief, question or topic, academic level, word count, deadline, referencing requirements, assessment criteria, files supplied by the customer and any other requirements expressly agreed as part of the order.

Customers should provide complete and accurate requirements before work begins. Information supplied after work has commenced may affect whether a requested change can reasonably be treated as a revision within the original scope.

Where instructions are ambiguous or incomplete, we may consider relevant communications and the information reasonably available when determining whether a requested revision falls within the original agreement.

Changes normally within the original scope

Subject to the circumstances of the order, a revision will normally remain within the original scope where it is reasonably necessary to address a material difference between the service supplied and the requirements originally agreed.

Examples may include:

  • Correcting content that does not address an expressly stated requirement in the original brief.
  • Correcting factual, formatting or referencing errors attributable to the service supplied.
  • Making reasonable amendments to address an original marking criterion that was materially overlooked.
  • Correcting the application of an agreed referencing style.
  • Addressing relevant feedback that demonstrates a material issue with the service when assessed against the original instructions.

The appropriate extent of a revision depends on the nature of the issue identified. A revision may affect a specific section rather than requiring changes to material that already conforms to the agreed requirements.

Changes outside the original scope

A request will not normally be treated as an included revision where it introduces requirements that were not part of the original agreement or materially changes the nature or extent of the work required.

Examples may include:

  • Changing the assignment question, topic, research question or principal objective after work has commenced.
  • Changing the required academic level or type of assessment.
  • Requesting substantial additional content or a materially higher word count.
  • Introducing a new assignment brief, marking rubric or set of requirements that was not provided for the original order.
  • Changing the required research method, dataset, case organisation, theoretical framework or analytical approach where this was not part of the original agreement.
  • Requesting a different referencing style where the original work followed the style initially specified.
  • Replacing sources or evidence merely because the customer's preferences have changed after completion.
  • Requesting changes arising from information that should reasonably have been provided before work commenced.
  • Requesting work on an additional task, question, chapter, assessment or deliverable not included in the original order.

Where a request falls outside the original scope, we may explain the additional work required and, where appropriate, offer a separate quotation or order. The customer is not required to accept additional paid work.

Changed or additional instructions

Customers may sometimes need to provide new information after an order has started. We will consider whether the new information clarifies an existing requirement or materially changes the agreed scope.

A clarification that does not substantially alter the work required may be incorporated where reasonably practicable. A new requirement that changes completed work, requires substantial additional research or analysis, or materially alters the agreed deliverable may be treated as additional work.

Customers should therefore provide assignment briefs, marking criteria, templates, datasets, tutor instructions and other material requirements as early as possible.

Tutor and supervisor feedback

Relevant tutor or supervisor feedback can be considered when assessing a revision request. The existence of feedback does not automatically mean that the original service was defective or that every requested change falls within the original scope.

Where feedback identifies an issue relating directly to requirements that were included in the original instructions, we may use that feedback to determine an appropriate revision. Where the feedback introduces a new direction, new requirement or substantially expanded scope, additional work may be required.

Customers should provide the relevant feedback accurately and, where reasonably necessary, sufficient context to understand how it relates to the original order.

Marks, grades and academic outcomes

Universities, colleges, awarding bodies, tutors, supervisors and examiners determine academic marks and outcomes. Wiki Assignments UK does not control those decisions and does not guarantee a particular mark, grade, classification, approval or academic result.

A lower-than-expected mark does not by itself establish that a revision is required. Where academic feedback identifies a specific concern, we may review that concern against the original instructions and the service supplied to determine whether it falls within this policy.

Nothing in this section affects any statutory right or remedy that may apply where a service has not been provided in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

How to request a revision

Customers should contact Wiki Assignments UK as soon as reasonably possible after identifying an issue that they believe requires revision.

A revision request should provide enough information for the issue to be identified and assessed. Where applicable, customers should include:

  • Their name and the email address associated with the order.
  • The relevant order number or other available order reference.
  • A clear description of the specific changes requested.
  • The original instruction, assessment requirement or criterion to which the request relates.
  • The relevant section of the supplied work where the issue occurs.
  • Tutor or supervisor feedback where that feedback is relevant to the request.

Clear and specific revision requests allow the relevant issue to be reviewed more efficiently than general requests to rewrite or improve an entire order without identifying a particular concern.

How revision requests are reviewed

We review revision requests by comparing the requested changes with the original order requirements, relevant communications, files and instructions provided by the customer, the service supplied and any relevant feedback.

We may request clarification or supporting information where reasonably necessary to determine whether the requested changes fall within the original scope.

Following review, we may confirm that the requested change falls within the original scope, explain why all or part of the request constitutes additional work, or propose another appropriate resolution where the circumstances require it.

Revision timescales

The time required to complete an accepted revision depends on the nature and extent of the changes requested, the complexity of the original order and any deadline reasonably agreed for the revision.

Minor corrections may require less time than revisions involving substantial research, analysis or restructuring. Where reasonably practicable, the expected revision timescale will be communicated after the request has been reviewed.

Customers should raise time-sensitive concerns promptly and identify any relevant institutional deadline. Providing a deadline does not guarantee that a revision can be completed within that period unless the timescale has been expressly agreed.

Multiple revision requests

A customer may raise further concerns where a previous revision has not resolved an issue that properly falls within the original agreed scope. Revision requests are assessed according to their substance rather than simply their number.

Repeated requests that introduce new requirements, reverse previously approved changes, alter customer preferences or otherwise expand the original scope may be treated as additional work.

This approach is intended to distinguish genuine correction of an unresolved issue from continuing changes to the requirements of an order.

Customer delays and unavailable information

A revision may depend on information, clarification, files or feedback from the customer. Where necessary information is not provided within a reasonable time, the revision process may be delayed.

Wiki Assignments UK will not normally be responsible for a revision delay caused by missing or late information that the customer was reasonably required to provide, subject always to applicable consumer rights.

Academic integrity and revision requests

Revisions remain subject to our Academic Integrity Policy. A revision request cannot be used to require Wiki Assignments UK to participate in plagiarism, fabrication, impersonation, prohibited assessment assistance or another form of academic misconduct.

We may decline or limit a requested change where carrying it out would conflict with our academic integrity standards or where the request would require assistance that the customer's institution expressly prohibits.

Revisions and refunds

Revision and refund remedies address different circumstances. A revision may be appropriate where an issue with the supplied service can reasonably be corrected, while a refund or price reduction may be appropriate in other circumstances.

Where applicable consumer law provides a right to repeat performance, price reduction, refund or another remedy, that statutory right will not be excluded or restricted by this Revision Policy.

Refund requests are considered in accordance with our Refund Policy and applicable consumer rights. This Revision Policy should not be interpreted as requiring a customer to accept repeated revisions where doing so would unlawfully restrict another remedy available to them.

Statutory consumer rights

Services supplied to consumers are subject to applicable consumer protection law. Where relevant, statutory remedies may include repeat performance or an appropriate price reduction where a service does not conform to applicable legal requirements.

Nothing in this policy or our contractual terms is intended to exclude or restrict a consumer right or remedy where applicable law does not permit that right or remedy to be excluded or restricted.

This Revision Policy should be read alongside the other terms and policies relevant to Wiki Assignments UK services.

Our Confidentiality Policy and Quality Assurance Policy should also be read where relevant once those policies are published.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Revision Policy to reflect changes to our services, operational practices or applicable requirements. The current version will be published on this page, and the “Last updated” information will be revised when material changes are made.

Revision requests will be considered according to the contractual terms, applicable law and relevant circumstances governing the order.
